Watering Restrictions
2003 marks the fifth straight year of significantly below average snowfall in Colorado. Colorado is in a state of extreme drought. Aurora reservoirs are reflecting that lack of moisture. The city's reservoir system is at 26 percent of capacity. Because of this, mandatory water restrictions are in effect for City of Aurora water customers. Until 3 May 2003, outdoor irrigation of lawns is prohibited. The only exception to this is the deep-root or drip irrigation or hand watering with a hose and shut-off nozzle of trees, shrubs, and perennials.
The mandatory watering schedule for Aurora is attached. Click on the schedule to get more information about water restrictions from the City of Aurora website.
