The Lake Shore Community Association Pool Rules and Regulations


POOL HOURS: 11:00 AM UNTIL 8:00 PM
MONDAY - SUNDAY
POOL OPENS: May 24, 2008
  1. Homeowners must be current in the payment of Association dues before being permitted to register and use the pool. Upon initial registration (completing and returning questionnaire), homeowners will then be issued an ID card for each family member.
    1. Swimmers must have their pool pass in order to use the pool.
    2. Lifeguards have the responsibility/authority to enforce the Rules and Regulations for the safety and well being of all.
    3. Anyone who violations pool rules, and/or intimidates the lifeguards, whether by physical, mental or verbal abuse, will have their pool privileges suspended for whatever time period is deemed appropriate by the Association.
    4. Please sign IN and OUT in the Pool Log Book each time you visit the pool.
  2. Guests are allowed if accompanied by a Lake Shore resident who is at least 18 years of age, who has their valid pool pass with them. Households may have up to 8 guests at a time. Residents 14-17 years old, with a valid pool pass, may have 1 guest.
  3. Children 13 years of age or younger must be supervised at all times by a person 14 years or older, with a valid pool pass. EXCEPTION: Children ages 8-13, who demonstrate maturity and the ability to swim the length of the pool, will be issued a special pass for the season. This will be determined in a meeting set up with the Head Lifeguard, one parent, and the child.
  4. Baby pool is designated for children six (6) years and under, who must be supervised at all times by someone 14 years or older, with a valid pool pass. Children over the age of six (6) are not allowed in the baby pool. No disposable diapers may be used; only cloth diapers covered by rubber pants, or "swimmer" pull-ups. Food is allowed only on the deck are of the pool, not in the pool itself. THIS RULE WILL BE STRONGLY ENFORCED.
  5. Diving from the SHALLOW end of the pool is not permitted. Horseplay, running, spitting, excessive splashing, and/or excessive noise is not allowed.
  6. NO GLASS containers are permitted in the pool area at any time. Pets are not allowed. Food and candy are restricted to the pool perimeter.
  7. Bicycles, tricycles, skateboards, roller-blades, roller skates, scooters or play equipment, i.e. tennis balls, footballs, basketballs, are not permitted in the pool area. STRONGLY ENFORCED.
  8. Inflatable beach balls and pool rafts are permitted only if they do not interfere with other swimmers. No balls (other than 'Nerf' type, cloth covered), are allowed in the pool.
  9. No profanity or offensive language is permitted in the pool or surrounding areas. After a warning, a Pool Committee Member or Lifeguard has the responsibility/authority to ask the person to leave the pool area.
  10. All swimmers are required to wear appropriate swimming attire. No cut-offs or shorts allowed.
  11. Persons have infectious diseases, open sores, bandages, cuts or recent vaccinations are not permitted in the pool.
  12. Radios, CD players and cassette players are permitted, but should be played quietly for the consideration of others.
  13. Smoking is permitted in DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Due to safety concerns, please dispose of cigarette butts properly in the containers provided for you.
  14. Pool parties during regular hours:

    It is required that at least (1) additional lifeguard be on site for every private party during regular pool hours. The Lifeguard(s) will be provided by the pool company at a cost to the homeowner of $18.00 per hour, per lifeguard, with a two (2) hour minimum (plus 1/2 hour for clean up).

    Pool parties after regular hours:

    The Homeowner is responsible for $36.00 per hour (2 lifeguards after hours). Arrangements must be made through the management company at least seven (7) days in advance. The management will notify the Pool Committee after arrangements have been made. A security deposit of $150.00 is required. The Homeowner (with a current pool pass) must be present at all times. Parties are limited to 30 people. No parties may be scheduled during holiday weekends (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) unless sponsored by the Lake Shore HOA.
